My wife and I called and booked the room we wanted. When we got there, we went to the room that was given to us, and it was all wrong. We went back up to the front desk where we had already checked in with Bennett. He was unbelieable and really bent over backwards to make us happy and make it right with us! He gave us the perfect room and free breakfast. He is definitely an asset to the Marriott Company. He has excellent customer service skills and was very polite for our whole stay there.

🚨⚠️Did NOT enjoy staying here at all.🚫 It was a mouse trap of a maze to get to the room they assigned us to. Dark, not well-lit halls. Why in the world they had only 2 sets of towels for a double bed room that sleeps 4 was amusing.😑 Did not want to go through the maze again to request more towels at 9p with 3 young children, so I called front desk from the room phone-- no answer. Called the hotel number listed online from my cell- no answer. The rooms are average size but very DATED!! Don't let the "breakfast" 🍳 option decieve you! The breakfast is not buffet style as most hotels. It's made to order, limited options. We arrived on a weekday, only 1 staff member there taking orders 📝, making orders👩‍🍳and playing cashier, which makes the wait longer. I was truly appreciative of the woman's hardwork, 🙏and definitely recognized her for it. No employee should be put through that. 😡There were three large, over-filled hotel laundry carts full of dirty towels parked right next to our room (why they were left in the hall and not a laundry room is a mystery). Overall, it was a place to lay your head, but I do not recommend!! ⛔️

I had a very disappointing experience at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Capitol location. I arrived around 12:35 AM after traveling for hours from Louisiana, with another four-hour drive still ahead of me. I was exhausted and simply needed a place to rest. The front desk associate, Ian, told me that I couldn’t book a room as a walk-in and instructed me to make the reservation online instead. After I completed the online booking, I was then told I needed to call reservations because the reservation would have to be backdated before they could check me in. Rather than helping resolve the issue, I felt like I was being sent from one step to another without any effort to accommodate my situation. After a long day of traveling, I expected better customer service and a willingness to help find a solution. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel. Customer service should be about helping guests, especially when they’re already on the property and clearly exhausted from traveling. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I will also be sharing my experience on my social media platforms so others are aware of how this situation was handled.
